As published on the candidate's Law Society of Alberta election profile.
I was called to the bar in 1989, and have practiced primarily criminal law throughout my career. After a decade as a Crown Prosecutor with Alberta Justice, I spent several years in civil litigation. I subsequently set up my own firm focussing on criminal defence work and administrative law.
My work as president of the Alberta Crown Attorneys Association, and as president of the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association have provided me with insight and experience with governance and with public advocacy. Working with these and other volunteer organizations has been a great learning experience in cooperative efforts and consensus building. I have experienced work in the public service, in a large firm setting, and as a sole practitioner and a small firm.
After 37 years in practice, I look forward to an opportunity to serve the protection of the public interest.
